Derek S. Wilson, Partner

During his twenty years of project management experience, Mr. Wilson has handled numerous aspects of land development, including: entitlement, fiscal impact analysis, site design, environmental conformance, and financial modeling. He has worked on a diverse collection of projects, including urban mixed-use developments, public parks, and single family homes within the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Prior to jointly forming Rubicon Design Group, Derek was a Partner with a multi-disciplinary firm in Reno, Nevada and has past Planning experience within the Lake Tahoe Basin, including working knowledge of and relationships with the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA).

Mr. Wilson’s goal in the land planning process is to facilitate cooperation from stakeholders. He believes this serves two purposes simultaneously: to bring efficiency to the process and to stimulate creative thinking. Mr. Wilson has therefore developed strong skills in conducting public outreach meetings and in maintaining relationships with public officials.

Railey, Partner Mr. Railey has over thirteen years of planning experience focused in Nevada and northern California. Prior to forming Rubicon Design Group, Mr. Railey was a partner with a large multi-disciplinary design firm in Reno, Nevada. During his professional career, Mr. Railey has specialized in master-planning, site design, entitlements, community consensus building, public involvement, and feasibility analysis. This includes several large scale master-planned communities, commercial centers, redevelopment projects, destination resorts, and countless entitlement requests for a variety of projects for both private and public sector clients.
